Department of Rachana Shareera

Shareera Rachana is one of the fundamental cardinal subject in the 1st year of BAMS where in student’s study about the structure and composition of human body through detailed theory and also through cadaveric dissection. OurAcharyasSushrutha, Charaka and Vagbhata gave importance and explained about Rachanasharira in their respective Samhitas. Sushrutha Acharya elaborately described about human body dissection in Sushruta Samhita.Shareerarachana provide a thorough understanding of the basic principles of Shareera. Gross and microscopic structure and development of the human body in perspective of ancient and modern sciences, as well as to acquire necessary skills. Sharir in Ayurveda also provides in depth views to concepts like Marma and srotas. Learning of Sharir is most useful in further years in diagnosis and management of the diseases.

Laboratory:
The library maintains an excellent collection of books including Ayurvedic as well as modern Human Anatomy.

Museum:

  • The museum is spacious with collection of human organ specimens.
  • It also consists of good number of models and charts for better understanding the subject.
  • The department also provides the bone sets and precast bone models for proper understanding of Osteology. The bones are painted in different colors for easy understanding of muscle origin and insertion.

Dissection Hall: 
“The dissection hall is spacious, well-ventilated, and well-lit to provide an optimal learning environment. It is equipped with a cadaver storage tank that ensures proper preservation of specimens. The facility includes stainless steel dissection tables, wash stations, and adequate seating arrangements for all students. Dissection sessions are conducted by experienced subject experts who provide hands-on guidance and in-depth anatomical knowledge. Emphasis is placed on safety, hygiene, and respectful handling of cadavers to foster professional and ethical learning.”

Activities:
